in the next room
        a box of nails
                   under a spot-light
in the room after that
        a paper hat
                    painted white
then beyond the heavy door
        a rubber powered plane
                     flying out of sight
under the stairs
        the painted stone fountain
                     sounds about right
in the broom closet
         a bowl of cut-out paper letters are
                      wound very tight
                                  the way a rubber band might
be shot through a pipe
in the ceiling
